Hello and welcome to the Henry & Henry Adult Activity Center, a vibrant community center dedicated to supporting adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in leading empowered, connected, and meaningful lives.

We are a family-run program based in Oakland, CA, offering person-centered services designed to help individuals grow in confidence, develop everyday life skills, and participate fully in the world around them.

What We Do

At Henry & Henry, we believe everyone has something valuable to contribute. Our services are designed to meet people where they are, and support them in moving toward their personal goals. Here's a quick look at what we offer:

• Life Skills Training: We work with participants on skills that promote independence, like budgeting, cooking, using public transportation, and communication.

• Community Access: We plan regular outings and volunteer opportunities to help participants stay connected and involved in their neighborhoods.

• Creative Expression: From arts and crafts to music and movement, our group activities encourage creativity, fun, and connection.

• Health & Wellness: We support overall well-being through activities like group walks, stretching, and health education.

• Technology Use: Our team helps participants get comfortable using tablets, phones, and computers to access information, communicate, and explore interests.

Every activity we offer is built around our commitment to helping each person feel seen, supported, and included.

Helping Hands, Improving Lives: Supported Employment

One of our most impactful programs is our Helping Hands, Improving Lives Supported Employment Program. This initiative was designed to help participants prepare for, find, and maintain meaningful employment in their communities.

Through personalized coaching, job-readiness training, and strong employer partnerships, we support individuals every step of the way—from building a resume and practicing interviews to on-the-job coaching and long-term support.

Participants work in a variety of industries, including retail, food service, janitorial services, and more. We also partner with local businesses who are committed to inclusive hiring.

Whether someone is ready for a job now or just beginning to explore their interests, we meet them at their level and move at their pace.

At Henry & Henry, we focus on each individual’s strengths, interests, and personal goals. We build close partnerships with participants and their families to make sure everyone feels involved, supported, and encouraged.

We are vendored through the Regional Center of the East Bay and offer both in-person and virtual services. Our dedicated team brings energy, compassion, and years of experience to everything we do.
